Different histories and cultures around cannabis exist in almost every part of the world. How is cannabis regarded and used in different historical and cultural contexts? In this first session of the two-part series “Ask the Expert: International perspectives on cannabis”, we invite experts with various professional and cultural backgrounds to share their experiences, views, and understandings on regional cannabis use.
In this second session of the two-part series « International perspectives on cannabis », the audience will have the opportunity to learn more about the medicinal uses, legal and social realities as well as the educational strategies that exist in Mexico, Kenya, India and in the Middle East.
For our tenth “Ask the Expert”’ event, we look to explore queer and gender diverse perspectives on cannabis. This discussion will give the audience the opportunity to better understand the intersections of queerness and gender diversity with cannabis, mental health, and access to knowledge around cannabis for queer and gender diverse people.
In this Ask The Expert, we are hosting an in-depth conversation on the importance of effective cannabis education. Stephanie Coronado-Montoya is a young researcher whose experience in the psychiatry field has made her aware of the lack of existing evidence-based programs for different vulnerable populations, and passionate about addressing these issues. Her involvements have centered on improving access to and developing new psychosocial interventions to address such needs in vulnerable populations. Currently, as part of her Ph.D. project, she is developing a novel harm reduction psychosocial intervention for people with psychosis who use cannabis.
